Qualifications to Work for Al Qalam Academy
- Educational Background:
- A degree in specific subject area (e.g., Mathematics, Science, English), or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or Doctorate) are preferred but not always required.
- Teaching Experience:
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring, preferably in a homeschooling, online learning, or blended learning environment. Experience in curriculum development and personalized education plans is a plus.
- Islamic Knowledge:
- A strong understanding of Islamic principles and values. This can be demonstrated through formal Islamic education or extensive personal study. The ability to integrate Islamic values into teaching is essential.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms, educational software, and digital tools. Experience with virtual classrooms and online student engagement strategies is important for delivering effective remote education. Candidates should also be proficient in using Google Drive, including creating documents and presentations.
- Language and Soft Skills:
- Fluency in English is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students are critical. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and other educators are also necessary.

- Application:

- Initial Interview:
- Qualified candidates will receive a call for a Zoom meeting with the camera on for an initial interview.
- Second Interview:
- If considered for hire, candidates will undergo a second interview to further assess their suitability.
- Training:
- Hired candidates must complete a 3-week intensive training program. Extended training is offered throughout a school year.
- Employment Details:
- Mentors are paid per hour, with a maximum of 15 hours offered per week.
